    I have a few things I would like to suggest.

    First a question, what aspect of towns do factions earn money from? Members or level?

    Now...

    1) I would like to suggest that factions can chose how they make money.
    A) Classic Town/Money thing, they own a town and get wages for it. This makes for large empires.
    B) A more Nomadic Money/Kill system, this would allow factions to not claim towns and to take a more roaming stance, their members could simply roam around and murder for money. These people would be like bandits.
    C) A work/money system. By this I mean a faction would get money by doing working and doing normal things like cutting trees and mining. This would suit the weaklings err... I mean the less Pvp oriented people.

    This system could get interesting I think. If a town was owned by an A type faction, it could have C's in it, the town would be raided by the B's who would get money for killing. The C's might not be happy with the A's who are protecting them since they control the town.
    Also, if the factions were to get benefits from this like the C's couldn't do as much damage or the A's and B's got bonuses to their combat skills, they would be the fighters whereas the C's would have to either be owned by a faction or try and buy the C's to peace.
    This also would solve the PvP issue of some people wanting to be in a faction but not wanting to fight, they could be in the C's. The people who want to fight could be in the A's, or B's. The B's might not make a whole lot of money so the A's would also have an appeal to them. Im not quite sure on all of the fine details but that is my first idea.

    2) Allowing Player-made Factions.

    This kind of ties in with the idea above but still could stand alone.
    In the above scenario, the only player-made factions would be the kingdoms and the other two would be something called Nomads or Raiders and the Builders or Workers. The third factions could be player made and would be kingdoms of sorts. I think the system would make a weak faction fail since they must be able to protect their towns or they would all die repeatedly. Perhaps the Raiders could take a Kingdoms home town and the faction would be disbanded? Im not sure.

    In the current system, we could do with a little more competition than just two massive factions killing each other while the third slowly makes a comeback and replaces the weaker third.

    I really don’t want to add new stuff to Saga, because I plan to release a beta version to bukkit dev. If I keep adding new stuff, then I will never release it.

    1)
    -A) Already in.
    -B) I may make it a core feature and add it. (no promises)
    -C) That would be for settlements. I'm already planning something similar. No time to implement it.
    2) We are considering player made factions again.

    well first ill make it into a peacefull factionwhich lies in the mountain off course, once we gain enough people i will make war with every single other faction out there and completely obliterate them. Very Happy

    I don't think so drag, I predict natives all over again. A massive faction of people who just want money.

    Hell, it is more likely to happen. To get money they HAVE to be in a faction so now you will have more useless people.

    I like some aspects of Peps idea. And to all of you >Suck it< giants may have soldiers, But what they lack is rudimentary military hierarchy. I won't share how it works, Boebia knows, but organization is the key factor in creating a Sucessful Nation. Our Nation is Unified under principles and codes of conducts that I, as well as the other officers produce (Executive orders, writen in bookn'quill) that will dictate how Navi operates. The rest who want money can screw themselves, though the ones keep under watch can be forced to die. What's better 1 experienced giant soldier, or 5 swinging Navi Soldiers?

    Red or someone with godlike gear and maxed stats. Suuuurrreee, your troops go through traning etc etc etc... But if they see red or someone else halfway powerful rinning at them, they are going to run away.

    The real problem I see with factions is that nobody really has any incentive to fight, people just try and sneak into town squares and cap them and run away when someone challenges them. People just want to be in a faction to get money. The solution to this in my idea was to have a few types of factions, ones that only earned money from killing, others mining, etc.
